CC-LINK IP Hire

Reliable low-latency wireless IP connectivity for professional broadcast cameras, control panels and network devices, with dual Ethernet interfaces and IP camera-control support.

Quick Answer: The CC-LINK IP is available to hire in London from £100/day as a wireless IP data bridge covering up to 1 km line-of-sight at 150 Mbps with low and consistent network latency.

Why it exists

Outside broadcast engineers have been solving the same problem for years. Camera positions are spread across a stadium, a concert venue, a motorsport circuit - and every one of them needs to sit on the production network. That means Cat5 or fibre between each position and the OB truck, cable ramps across walkways, and hours of rigging time before the first camera is even tested.

The CC-LINK IP removes that cable. It creates a wireless Ethernet bridge that carries standard IP traffic between two points, transparently, at up to 1 km range. Plug a network cable into each unit, power them up, and your camera position is on the production network without a physical connection between them and the truck.

How the CC-LINK IP works

The transmitter and receiver each have dual LAN ports (RJ45). You connect your camera, control panel, or network switch at one end and the production network at the other. The CC-LINK IP bridges the two wirelessly over 2.4 GHz OFDM, using 802.11 b/g/n modulation with 20 or 40 MHz bandwidth. Data throughput reaches 150 Mbps, which comfortably handles multiple simultaneous IP streams running in parallel.

The link is transparent to your network. Your engineering team needs no reconfiguration of cameras, devices, or production network infrastructure. Anything that communicates over standard IP over a cable communicates over the CC-LINK IP with low and consistent network latency. Tally signals, remote diagnostics, live configuration changes, file transfers, IP camera control - all of it passes through the wireless bridge unmodified, at that same low latency.

Latency sits under 10 ms, which is fast enough for real-time control and monitoring applications without any perceptible lag at the operator's end. Data is encrypted with WPA2 security, protecting your production network from interception in shared RF environments where multiple companies are operating simultaneously.

What It Does On An Outside Broadcast

The most common application is putting camera positions on the production network at large venues. At a Premier League ground or a stadium concert, running physical cable from twenty camera positions to the OB truck is a half-day rigging job. The CC-LINK IP turns each of those runs into a pair of units that fit in the palm of your hand. Camera operators roll their cameras into position, the units power up, and the production network extends to every camera within range.

The dual LAN ports on each unit add flexibility. At the camera end, you can connect both the camera and a secondary device - a remote head controller, a second network switch - to the same wireless bridge. At the production end, you connect directly into the production network infrastructure.

Serial ports (RS232 and RS422) add another layer of connectivity for productions using serial-controlled cameras or devices at the camera position.

Build

Build And Practicality

The CC-LINK IP weighs 80 grams and runs on 7.5 to 36V DC. It integrates with standard broadcast power infrastructure without adapters or additional power management. The compact form factor means it sits on the camera rig, mounts to a light stand, or attaches to any convenient surface near the camera position without adding meaningful weight or bulk.

Getting started

How WaveHire Handles Your Hire

Browse the CC-LINK IP, add it to your enquiry, and share your production dates. Our team confirms availability and quotes within the hour. Before dispatch, every CC-LINK IP is tested by a technician on a live network link. We verify IP throughput, confirm the bridge is transparent at the network level, and check wireless stability. The unit ships with antennas, Ethernet cables, and power cable. You collect from our London facility with same-day collection available, or we arrange delivery. At the end of your hire, the unit returns to us for re-test and re-prep.

If you need Sony camera control alongside IP data at the same camera position, the CC-LINK COMBO handles both on one link at £135/day - a saving over hiring the CC-LINK IP and CC-S700 separately, or contact our team to talk through your build.

Questions

The CC-LINK IP creates a wireless Ethernet bridge between a camera position and the production network. It replaces physical cable runs between camera positions and the OB truck, carrying tally, diagnostics, IP camera control, file transfer, and any other IP network traffic over a wireless link of up to 1 km.

No. The CC-LINK IP carries standard Ethernet IP traffic only. It is not camera-protocol specific - it carries any IP data transparently. If your production also needs wireless Sony 700 shading control, the CC-LINK COMBO at £135/day carries both IP data and Sony control on one link.

The rated range is up to 1 km line-of-sight. In practical broadcast environments with stadium structures, temporary buildings, and vehicles between transmitter and receiver, reliable range typically sits between 500 m and 1.5 km depending on antenna positioning and local RF conditions.

Yes. The CC-LINK IP uses WPA2 encryption on all data transmitted over the wireless link. Your production network traffic is protected from interception in multi-production environments where several companies share the same venue and RF spectrum.

Yes. Each CC-LINK IP unit has dual LAN ports (RJ45). You can connect a camera and a secondary network device directly, or connect to a network switch to extend access to multiple devices at each end of the wireless bridge.

The unit accepts 7.5 to 36V DC, compatible with standard broadcast power sources including camera power outputs, battery plates, and mains adapters. It weighs 80 grams and draws minimal power, adding nothing meaningful to your production power budget.
