Frequently Asked Questions

WaveHire currently stocks ten wireless broadcast systems across three product ranges. The CC-LINK range covers wireless Sony camera control and IP data with three systems from £100/day. The FLEX range carries HD broadcast video with three systems from £175/day. The VITA range provides on-set wireless monitoring with four systems from £50/day.

Yes, and on most outside broadcasts and larger productions that is the norm. A typical setup might combine FLEX systems for wireless video from camera positions to the OB truck, CC-LINK systems for IP data on camera positions not covered by the FLEX range, and VITA systems for on-set monitoring during pre-production and rehearsal. Our team can advise on the most cost-effective combination for your specific production.

The CC-LINK range carries Sony camera control and IP data only - no video. The FLEX range carries HD video plus options for Sony control and IP data, built for broadcast transmission. The VITA range carries wireless video for on-set monitoring only, without camera control or IP data. Each range is designed for a specific function rather than being a general-purpose system.

Same-day collection is available from our London facility. If you confirm your booking before midday, you can typically collect the same afternoon. For planned productions, we recommend booking 48 hours ahead to guarantee availability across the full equipment list.

Yes. Every system is tested on a live signal before dispatch regardless of how recently it was last used. Video systems are tested on a live HD-SDI signal. Camera-control systems are tested on a live control link with protocol handshake and control response verification. Monitoring systems are tested as transmitter-receiver pairs at rated range. No equipment leaves our facility without passing these checks.

Contact our team with your production details: what type of cameras you are using, how many camera positions, what distances between camera and control room or video village, what the camera positions need to send or receive, and what your RF environment is like. We will recommend the right systems from the range and build the most cost-effective equipment list for your production.
